I’ve seen some pretty crappy homes before when arriving for a meeting to discuss listing the home.  I’ve seen diapers on the floor, trash overflowing, boogers (yes actual snot) on the walls, and I’ve seen full toilets that haven’t flushed in over 24 hours.

YUCK!  People!!!  Get it together!  Who’s going to want to buy your home if you won’t even take care of it when you’re SUPPOSED to be showing it off?!Nice trees and landscaping services

We keep a long list of vendors in our back pockets.  We have cleaning companies, roofers, contractors, tree trimmers, carpenters, and hardwood floor experts.  We have stagers, lenders, concrete repairmen, and insurance agents.  We are connected to our community and we are pleased to offer you those relationships as an asset to your sale.  It NEVER hurts to have a landscaper who you can trust to get the lawn and garden looking it’s best before move in day…or just before placing a house on the market!

So when you’re going to out to hire someone to be on YOUR team – the team that is selling your home – make sure you pick the team with the largest Rolodex!

Most real estate agents aren’t like is.  They get out of the game in less than a year or two.  They say they weren’t trained and weren’t making any money.  Well duh!!  But guys…you can’t keep thinking like a company “worker” you need to think like a business “owner.”

If you want to make sure that you can hang…you need to join a team and get some support from men and women who have been there and who are doing the work every single day.  Your learning curve will shorten…you’re motivation level will increase…and you’ll start making more money a lot sooner than if you just try to go it on your own.

The best of the best know how to market and look for new customers.  They can work IN their business and ON their business at the same time.  They get new listings by closing old listings.  Each seller is a buyer and each buyer will one day be a seller.  They build relationships and they network.  They know all the best lenders, mortgage companies, home inspectors, and handymen.  Those people each become extensions of their business.

When you are part of a team is increases your base of expertise incredibly!  A good realtor has a very deep Rolodex.  (You kids under the age of 30 will have no idea what I just said…so for their benefit, a good realtor has to get the 64GB iPhone because their contact app is exploding!!

Think of the time that is saved by working with a team!  The entire sales process runs smoother when everyone helps out.

Just like in any sport, a good team holds each other accountable.  The leaders of the team push the rookies, and the rookies out to make a name for themselves push the leaders!  It’s a win-win.

It’s also very important to create a “system” of support within your team.  It’s important that the buying and selling transaction process is seamless…and although there will always be bumps in the road, certain things should be done a certain way, every time.  Teams help facilitate a strong system.

If you’re part of a team, volume is the name of the game.  If everyone is going to eat, then everyone needs to bring something to the table.  And the truth is, because of the increased accountability and motivation/competition…volume is rarely an issue with effective teams.  They have so many buyers/sellers that they don’t know when they’re going to be able to take their next vacation.

What you need to know is that, deciding to cozy up to a real estate team, you want to pay close attention to their breadth of experience and their reputation.  The truth is, their reputation will, by default, become your reputation.  So make sure it’s a good fit.  The good news is…you’ll always be able to draw from that experience and it will give you the confidence to market yourself more effectively.

So obviously it goes without saying that making sure you surround yourself with the right people in this profession is critical!
